• Hi,

I have followed the network Configuration instructions for mutlisite installation very carefully.

    It’s a new wordpress 3.6 installation.

I have set up a wildcard (*) at my host dns.

My host says that everything looks good with the wildcard and they have many multisite with subdomains costumers and says i should contact wordpress support.

PROBLEM: When I add a new site in the network and try to visit the new subdomain site i get a 404 error.

What does the 404 look like? Does it match the theme of your main site, or does it look like something else?

Something else. A standard cant find server page.

Then the problem is your server has wildcards set up wrong.

Wildcards should be pointing to wherever WP is installed on your server.

So if you have it installed in /home/username/public_html/ then your wildcard has to point there. Each host is a little different, though, so you’ll have to study where it is and correct it.
