• For the last two months I have not been unable to preview any of my posts on any of my sites using any of the themes. I have to post them before I can see how they are going to appear on my page. This is resulting in me having to make LIVE corrections when the posts do not appear correctly on the post page.

I have reviewed over a dozen of the previous posts made to the WP forum on this issue and have followed many of the suggestions offered. However, none of them work.

Everything was working well until WP updated to the 3.9.2 version which is when I first noticed this error. Now there have been two more updates and this errors still appears.

Has WordPress addressed this issue and found a permanent solutions?

Does this happen with all plugins deactivated?

    Jose,
Yes, I still get the error when all plugins are deactivated and when I put the www. back on the url as mentioned in a previous post made here in this forum a few months ago. I still get the error when I change themes.

What happens if you “save draft,” rather than publish? From what I can recall it will create a preview link right above the title field.

When I use the “Save Draft” and use the preview link right above the title field I get the same 404 error.

I have the same problem with WP 4.1. I have tried all the different options in the permalinks. I cannot view a blog. In my case control is passed to https://localhost which then brings up https://localhost/index.html which is Apache2’s default web page.

    I also deactivated all plugins.

If I delete /var/www/html/index.html then I also get error 404 every time I try and view a blog.

I have saved a draft, then published. Nothing works.
I am using Ubuntu linux. I suspect this is the problem.

    Really frustrating.
I personally don’t think WP works in Ubuntu linux. There are many other issues I have had.
I never use Microsoft Os’s but in this case I might be forced to try it out with WP.
