Hi, when I change my websites permalink structure to postname from plain none of the pages, except the home page, work. They all display a 404 error. When I switch the permalinks back to plain it works perfectly.

    Hello @kai,

Thank you for contacting the support and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

WordPress should automatically redirect the URLs after changing the permalinks. Please clear your website, browser, and server’s cache (if any) and again save the Permalinks (without making any changes), and see if that helps.

If the issue persists, please take a backup of your htaccess file and follow this article and see if that fixes the issue:

    Hope this helps.

P.S. Please stay advised that any internal links added to the content will not be redirected automatically and you would need to edit the tables in your Database to make the redirections work.
