• I recently installed multisites on my WordPress account with the intention of having multiple blogs in multiple languages for my website. When ever I try to view the site or its corresponding dashboard I get a 404 error not found. Below are the steps I have tried after completing the multisites installation to a T.

    Verified .htaccess file was correct
    Verified wp-config fie was correct
Verified both files were in the correct directory
Contacted my web host about httpd.conf file allowing and they stated that they will not change the default settings on the httpd.conf file as I am in a shared hosting environment
Changed the URL to the correct URL in Network Admin settings on each site

What else can I do or what else am I missing?

    Thanks!

But were they able to answer if they had AllowOverride set to “All” or “Options All”? Because if not, you’re out of luck on Shared.

Changed the URL to the correct URL in Network Admin settings on each site

Undo that. For now. You CAN change those, but you need to actually get Multisite working before you try.
