    Hello,
I have the All In One WP Security plugin version 4.3.5 installed and have been able to update it within the WordPress dashboard before, but I am getting a 404 error when trying to update to version 4.3.6. Is there a setting I need to change to fix this?
    Thanks

Hi, that is very strange. I just carried a test and it worked for me. Can you try again but this time make sure you clear your browser cache? If this does not work and you receive the same error message, do the following. Download the plugin to your computer. Disable and delete the plugin from your website. Then upload and install the file you downloaded. Let me know if that helps you.

You might want to create a backup before you begin just in case something strange happens.

    Kind regards

Same Issue here even new installation gives errors on a clean wp install.
@ mbrsolution please there is an issue with the plugin and the problem is is that is random.

I have now two sites with this problem.

    Hi @majokko,

even new installation gives errors on a clean wp install

How are you installing the aiowps on a new WordPress installation? Via the admin dashboard plugins menu?
Can you please provide more information on the behaviour you are seeing when you install the plugin?
Does the 404 error appear immediately after the plugin has been downloaded or after you try to activate it?
What is the URL being displayed on your browser when you get the 404 event?

I’m having this exact problem trying to update from 4.3.6 to 4.3.7.2

When I last tried to deactivate, uninstall, and reinstall AIOWP Security I crashed my site. Any other option I can try first? I already tried clearing my cache.

I have been having this problem recently as well. Nothing seems to solve it.

I have found a workaround though, rather than update via /wp-admin/update-core.php navigate to /wp-admin/plugins.php and trigger the update from there instead. It’s worked for me every time so far.

@toolstd, thank you for sharing that information. However you should be able to update a plugin from either location. If you can only update from one location and not the other then there is something not working correctly in your site. You should investigate this further.

For example: What PHP version is running in your server? What type of server is your site hosted in? Do you have the latest WordPress version running in your site? You might also like to carry out a plugin/theme conflict test.

    Kind regards

@mbrsolution Thanks for the reply. I am running the latest stable PHP with the latest version of WordPress. I use a VPS. This also occurs with fresh installs with no other plugins.

    Hi,

I am running the latest stable PHP with the latest version of WordPress.

Are you talking about WordPress 5.1 and PHP 7.2.x?

    I use a VPS.

Who is your host? I am also running my site in a VPS server without any issues.

This also occurs with fresh installs with no other plugins.

I believe this might be a server setting issue that might be causing this issue in your site.

    Kind regards

    Wordpress 5.1.1 and PHP 7.2.16.

    Krystal is my host.

Do you manage your VPS server or do you have someone else manage the server for you?

    It’s completely managed for me.

Hi, maybe you can provide a bit more information about your server. For example: Is it running Apache or Nginx?

However this issue is more related to your server and not WordPress or our plugin. I think you would probably get more information and support using the correct WordPress forum.

    Kind regards
