• I get a lot of 404 errors in the security Log Data referring to url’s that don’t exist. (My website is https://www.waternatuurlijkgrootsalland.nl)

    For example: /de-fractie/hans-de-jong/colofon

The first part is the normal url: https://www.waternatuurlijkgrootsalland.nl/de-fractie/hans-de-jong

The last word “colofon” is added for some reason I cannot track. There was a page “colofon” I linked to from the footer in html-code, i.e. in the Theme Hueman – Theme Options – Footer – Footer Copyright (because I didn’t want a footer with widgets because of the size they have).
Obviously, this caused the problem, so I remoeved the link from the footer, and even deleted this page. I also deleted cache, and synced the .htaccess file, but I still get these 404 errors.

I do hope some can explain and help!

Hi BDBrown, thanks for the information. I understand that 404 errors are not harmful, so that’s a relief, although it’s a bit annoying to have 50 or more errors per day.
I still wonder what could be done in the theme settings te prevent these errors. I suppose I should get a proper eduction on WordPress to find out ??

I anyone has a suggestion where to look for a solution, I would appreciate.
