404 Errors across site after CPT install

  • I’ve already asked this on the plugin support page but in the hope someone else may be able to assist me by looking at it from a different perspective I am also placing here.

    I created a custom post type ‘videos’ using CPT UI and created a new video post, I found that it came back as a 404 error. I also found that my blog page also came back as a 404 error although single post links were OK.

    I have deleted the video post, unregistered the video post type and deactivated and installed CPT UI plugin hoping that things would go back to normal.

    Unortunately not, now not only can’t I access my blog page but all my pages come back as a 404 error.

    Any ideas as to what might have gone wrong?

    generally, permalink settings need to be temporarily changed when you create a new custom post type. i have found that his has cured the 404 issue.
