    Hi,

some days ago, google search console is starting to show 404 error for pages with url ending with /false. Apparently, the Complianz cookie popup is linking to these urls:

    <a class="cmplz-btn cmplz-manage-options tcf cookie-statement" href="false#cmplz-manage-consent-container" data-relative_url="#cmplz-manage-consent-container">Einstellungen ansehen</a>

I use Complianz on several websites, one of which doesn’t have the cookie policy page generated (yet). This seems to be the reason why Complianz generates a link to a non-existing (sub-)page.

Even worse: I expect to get one “false” 404-url for every page that is indexed by google:

As you leave it to the user to generate a cookie policy page or not, could you please fix the broken link issue?

    Thanks a lot!

    Hi @wanderndeluxe,

You’re right. In the wizard you can choose your own page, a URL or generated by Complianz, with the latter, if you do not generate the document under “Documents” this is the result.

This is the first time that this was reported, as I suspect most are using a URL, one way or the other. We will fix this soon.

Fastest way to fix this now is to adjust the banner HTML and remove the document links as you won’t be using them. It’s explained here; https://complianz.io/create-your-own-banner-from-scratch/

You can just use the override of the template, and remove the HTML to fix it faster than we can create an update.

Hope this helps, and thanks a lot. regards Aert
