I am setting up a new site and it’s running WP 3.7.1. I just today installed NextGen 2.0.33 and am having a problem with galleries listed in an album all turning out 404 links:

    https://www.craicpa.org/test_index.php/photo-galleries/

In fact, I can’t even get the album itself to display going through the TinyMCE editor button (all I get on both the frontend and backend are the single preview image for the album). I have to use a shortcode to get it to display:
    [ngg_images album_ids=”1″ display_type=”photocrati-nextgen_basic_compact_album” thumbnail_width=”142″ thumbnail_height=”166″]

I’m using the StartBox framework with a child theme. I use this combination all the time and have never had this problem. However, I tried disabling all other plugins and also using the Twenty Twelve theme, but the problem still exists.

Any ideas as to what I can do to fix this?

Just a followup, I think this has something to do with the rewrite. I have the site up there with a /test_index.php/ URL so that it doesn’t interfere with the coming soon page that is there now. When I take that out of the URL, the galleries do show up:

    https://www.craicpa.org/photo-galleries/nggallery/craic/2008-photos/

I guess this just leaves the challenge of trying to get this work long enough for the client to approve it.

@karks88 – I would have questioned why you were using /test_index.php/ thanks for following up and explaining why. I expected there would be a good reason. Are you seeing any other quirks related to using that URL?

    Thanks!

Thanks for the reply! I have no other quirks that I’ve noticed. Usually I just use that so that I don’t have to install WP in a subdirectory when there is an existing site.

I’ve since gotten rid of the /test_index.php/ for the purpose of testing the galleries.
