• Hello guys,

I am completely new to UM so please bear with me.

    Problem:
User gets “The requested URL /user/username/ was not found on this server.” whenever they click on gear icon-> edit profile on the User page. It also occurs when they click on the post or comment icons for a user.

    Attempted Solutions:
I have done a plugin conflict test i.e. revert to 2017 theme and deactivate EVERY plugin except UM.

    Result:
    The problem persists.

    Additional information:
I have installed the Query Monitor plugin as per the help documentation suggestion but since the clicking of the link opens a 404 page immediately and the monitor plugin window disappears, I am still in the dark.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I need to give my client a proof of concept ASAP.

    Thank you.

  • Try changing your permalinks temporarily to Plain and see if username profiles are visible. This is my issue as well. When changed back to postname, I get the Not Found on this Server error.

    Thanks for the suggestion, Cory!

When I do that, I get really unexpected behaviour, a completely different link is opened. Very strange but at least it isn’t a 404 error.

When I change back to my “usual” permalink structure (post name) the error returns.

Did you manage to get your issue resolved at all?

I get the same behavior. Not resolved yet, waiting to hear back from the developers. I rolled back to 1.3.88 to get it to work correctly. This was happening in the beta version as well and obviously wasn’t fixed then either. Lots of bugs in this release. If not fixed, I have to find an alternative member plug in that works.

Ah ok thanks. Any idea where I can get hold of 1.3.88?

Not sure where a stand alone is, but I used the WP Rollback plug in and worked great. Lists all the versions. Might give that a shot.

Did you try 2.0.7 yet? Someone just posted that versions worked for them, though not sure if same issues or not.

Nope, not yet. Thanks for the suggestions.

@calumallison, I realize that you are overrun with fixes for the update but this is a critical one for me, and it seems that I am not the only user with the issue.

Kindly assign a member of your team to assist on this thread?

    Update for 2.0.8:
    1. From member directory page, signed in admin can edit own profile and other member profiles successfully by clicking on the Edit Profile button. However, navigating to a specific profile, gear icon -> Edit profile gives “The requested URL /user/ was not found on this server.”
    2. Despite being able to edit profiles via Edit Profile button on member directory page, once the user profile is in edit mode, clicking on posts and comments tabs also returns “The requested URL /user/ was not found on this server.”

This appears to confirm that this is not a plugin conflict or user error issue, correct?

@calumallison, while I understand that you are busy, kindly let me know if you intend to respond to my support request as well, or if I should devote my energy to finding an alternative membership plugin.
