    Hi,

I appear to have an unusual problem, If I try to update the plugin, access the plugin settings, ‘view details’ of the plugin or even search ’email encoder’ in add new plugins, I am persistently faced with a 404 page error.

Even manually updating the plugin has not resolved the issue – all other plugins appear to be fine although I can’t rule out there being a plugin conflict but haven’t been able to find it. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

By the way I have tested on different WordPress installs on different servers in different browser – the problem is consistent.

    Thanks for your help

    Hi,

Correction the conflict appears to be with the All in one WP security plugin (AIOWPS), this must be in line with an update to one of the plugins as I have accessed the EEB settings previously. Is there any way to get around this as I would really like to use both plugins together – ty

Need more details. Cannot reproduce the 404 error and tested with:
    – WP v4.1.0
    – AIOWPS v3.8.9
    – EEB v1.2.1

I’m happy to provide you with more information if possible. What can I get for you?

Is there likely to be an error.log generated for such an occurrence?

I can update the plugin manually but not being able to access the settings page is obviously terminal – it’s strange that I get the problem on other installations, otherwise I could have looked server side.

Could there be a setting within AIOWPS that could be messing things up?

    Thank you

It is possible to activate a debug log in WP. You need to add some code to your config.php.

It could be some setting. I cannot tell.

    Hi,

I activated the debug log but it did not throw up any errors, I have since manually updated both AIOWPS and EEB but still no solution to the problem.

I will set about deactivating each of the AiOWPS settings to see if I can isolate the issue (brute force lockout etc)

I can mail you my AIOWPS settings as well as my root directory and sub directory htaccess files to see if you can either recreate the issue or spot any errors? Just need an address – ty

Can you send me a message through my contactform? I will reply on that.

I am getting the same 404 errors with both AIOWPS and EEB. Did you find a solution? Clicking on settings, deactivate or edit gives a 404 error.

It does still seem to be working on the front end.

    Hi,

No response as yet although the developer has my AIOWPS settings config and htaccess to test. I’ve yet to check if the conflict can be isolated to a specific setting within AIOWPS, would be good to know results if you happen to check the same thing before me. Agreed the front end looks to be working fine, just no access to settings page, plugin info or updates etc

Did anyone have any luck with finding out if there is a conflict with these plugins?

Still no response from the developer – ty

This is strange, I have the same problem when searching for “email encoder” and when clicking on both plugins with similar names.

It seems the combination of email+encoder is not liked by something.

I found that disabling the “Bad Query Strings” in the Additional Firewall Rules in the All In One WP Security plugin stops this error.

I have been using the WP and made two websites (English and French) and yet I was trying to remove old files from my File Manager (Cpanel) and now the two sites which where in a network can’t be found any more. When I click on the dashboard of each site, what I get: “Not Found. The requested URL /wp-admin/network/index.php was not found on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.” How can I get my sites back. I think I deleted old files like screenshots (from old website that was not WPress) and CSS. Thanks for the help.

The main domain, https://tdtours.net is not showing at all. The sub-domain, https://tdtours.net/fr is showing but I can’t access its back end anymore.

I was having the same problem. When a user was submitting a review on a product, after hitting submit the page went to a 404.

I had to disable the Basic Firewall on AIOWPS to get things to work again.
