404 Errors when installing GTS Translation Plugin

    Hello, I wanted to answer some people who ran into this issue: you install the GTS Translation plugin and then see a whole bunch of 404 not found pages when trying to reach translated pages.

    It is apparent that the 404 errors occurs when people install the GTS plugin on sites that have custom WordPress Permalink settings. The GTS plugin works fine when the WordPress uses a standard Permalink setting (e.g., Day and Name, Month and Name, Post Name etc.). But if you have a custom Permalink setting then the 404 issue may occur. The translated content is there, just that the Permalink URL is not resolved to the translated content. If you see a 404 issue, change the Permalink setting to Day and Name and see if that resolves the problem. If it does not, please post again to this forum. Thanks, Dave
