Hello, after I updated awpcp to 4.2 I suddenly get 404 when I click on any listing.

My show listing page has the [AWPCPSHOWAD] shortcode and I’ve tried to restore the pages in settings.

    Please help.

I just noticed that if I enter a new ad, the listing works, but the old ones are still 404.

I’ve tried to open an old listing and saved it but it didnt help with the 404 error.

    Hi @danielraina

I’m sorry to hear that you ran into issues with this! One thing that might help quickly would be to reset your Permalinks. In WordPress, go to Settings > Permalinks, then press save changes (don’t make any changes) and see if that helps.?

Please try that and let me know if you run into more issues.

Yes, thank you so much, it worked!

Hello again @bobbied, the fix works but after a few minutes it’s back to showing 404 again.

It seems to coincide with purging the cache we use on the site, nginx fastcgi cache.
Any idea why this would be happening?

    Hey @danielraina

It sounds like the cache needs to be purged, either with that plugin or on your server.

We recommend clearing the server cache if you have one (which is found either in your hosting settings or on your plugin settings), as well as your client browser cache.

The best way to get uncached data on your browser is to use a Private Browsing window or Incognito mode (depending on your browser). That ensures you’re seeing the latest, correct data.

You can also reach out to the caching plugin support team to see if you can exclude AWP Classifieds pages from the caching mechanism.

Thanks for your answer @bobbied, I think my assumption that the caching had anything to do with this was wrong, I excluded the part of our site that has the classifieds in the nginx config but sadly it didn’t help.

I’m at a loss here, something’s changed after updating to 1.2.

Is there any way to downgrade to an older version of awp classifieds?

    Hey @danielraina

I’m sorry you’re still having issues with this.

Although we always recommend that you use the most recent version of a plugin always, all prior versions of the AWP Classifieds plugin are available from www.ads-software.com. From this URL:

    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/another-wordpress-classifieds-plugin/advanced/

Scroll to the bottom of the page to the dropdown menu and select the version you want, then click Download.

To install the module, WordPress now allows you to simply install it over top of the old version.

We highly recommend following the plugin update standards for manual updates listed in this article: https://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-properly-update-wordpress-plugins-step-by-step/`
