I can’t post a link here as it is to our dev site – hopefully there’s a way to get it to you privately. What is happening:
Tested the plugin and seemed to work great on dev. Deployed to live site – not immediately, but at some point gallery pages began redirecting to a certain post. All gallery pages. So I deactivated and went back to dev.

Same thing – but on dev they all redirect to the 404 page. Seems to be only for gallery post types – all other posts perform just as they should. If you first click on a gallery it goes to the gallery (say from the front page) but as soon as you refresh or try to access from an outside link, it goes to 404.

Weirdly, doesn’t start right away on activating the plugin – it takes maybe 5-10 minutes before this starts happening.

    Hi, ultravibe,

Do they truly redirect–which means pointing you to a new URL–or do they just show the 404 template?

This probably won’t make sense to most users: I think there’s some misconfiguration in one of the plugins or themes you’re using, where rewrite settings are overwritten and set at a time no other plugins have the chance to, or where they’re registered out of default action reach. The time difference may just be caching, or a plugin waiting for a certain action.

To clear up the confusion I brought: Go to the permalink settings and hit “Save Changes” at the bottom. Does this fix the issue, if only temporarily?

If that resolved the issue, then it’s definite proof for the gallery plugin’s not working according to the rewrite standards.
If that didn’t resolve the issue, try deactivating The SEO Framework, see if the gallery posts show up, and try saving the permalink settings again. Then, see if the gallery images show a 404 page.

In either case, it means that it works great on its own… until other plugins show up that want to access the rewrite system; The SEO Framework, for instance, wants to add its dynamic sitemap. This also means that the issue will recur until it’s fixed in the code.
