404 on Static ??bout””page

  • I am wanting to use the Write Page to create an ??bout”page. I have the friendly Permalink enabled and that is functioning.

    The home page reflects that the page was added, but when I access it it gives a 404. My site is https://www.chiriquichatter.net/blog

    I would appreciate any help. I am on WordPress 1.5+.

  • Your site is very slow – I couldn’t wait for it ??
    Is your .htaccess file writable when you create a new Page? If not, you’ll always get a 404 error.

    Slowness was a host problem. I think they have it fixed. Your solution fixed the page problem.
