• I have just installed wordpress and Woocommerce on a new website. Prior to installing Woocommerce, the sample post and pages were showing up fine but since I installed Woocommerce, none of the post or pages are showing. Neither are the automatically generated Woocommerce pages.

Whenever I click on any of them, a 404 page error comes up.

  • Probably the first thing to try is to reset the permalinks. Go to Settings / Permalinks and click “Save changes”.

I have done that. I have read several threads about this. I’ve tried changing my permalinks several different ways. I have also consulted my webhost to ensure that mod_rewrite is enabled which they have informed me that it is.

I tried deleting the plugin, setting all my permalinks to ‘default’ then re-installing the plugin, and now the site works but I cannot use any other permalinks with this plugin as it generates 404s with the pages and posts. I find this disturbing that it doesn’t work with any other permalink setup – this is obviously not good for SEO.
