404 page for list

I have set up events manager and chose the events page. CONTENTS is the only word on the page. I keep getting a 404 error. I have tried the permalinks suggestion and it did not work. We uninstalled and reinstalled.
We are using events manager with the theme it came bundled with–Nuvo from theme forest.
