404 Page formatted as a Post – AVADA

Sorry for the delay. I’m now in contact with the authors of the theme to get it work. I’ll keep you informed.

OK, I’ve now tested it. I’m using WordPress 4.7.2, Avada 5.0.6 and 404page 2.3.

Analyzing the HTML Code of your page I found out you’ve changed the
Page Title Bar Background in the Fusion Page Options. I did also to have a different header for the 404 page.

In case of an 404 error the page did not display properly – as you described. But changing the 404page Operating Method to Compatibility Mode solved this. On my testing machine everything works fine. I’m not able to reproduce your problem.

Have I overlooked something?

Please make sure you’re using the latest versions and please check if Operating Method is set to Compatibility Mode.

I just upgraded to latest version of AVADA and WP and sadly still had an issue.
With compatibility mode on, I get the AVADA 404, with standard mode, I get the Page Title Bar in FusionOptions and my customPageTitleBar does not show (most likley sitting behind the default one that AVADA seems to be forcing)

So, to remove all possible AVADA issues in settings, I have now turned Page Title Bar AND Header off/hide for the 404 page off.

I then added a container at the top, with our main image and text.

https://www.whygo.net/our-404 – works great.

https://www.whygo.net/our-404-gfgdh – shows the AVADA default Page Title Bar appearing at the top of the page, which is the similar issue all along, being that AVADA somehow throws their Page Title Bar at 404 pages, irrespective of the plug-in.

Any suggestions?

Just to be on the safe side: have you deactivated all other plugins?

I ran into this exact same problem and solved it by simply using custom CSS to hide the title bar from the 404 page. Just add this to the Custom CSS section of the Avada Theme Options…

.error404 .fusion-page-title-bar {
    display: none;
}

Thanks @divingdave for sharing your workaround. I’m happy you’ve been able to fix it. But from my point of view the problem is just bypassed, not solved. I’ve made several changes the last days to fix other issues. One of them required it to change how the template is loaded in compatibility mode. If I’m in luck those changes also solve this problem.

@divingdave, @whygo69 would you please do me favor and test the current development version which can be downloaded from https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/404page.zip without the custom CSS?

Hi Peter,
did not fix things for me.
Compat mode defaulted to AVADA 404 page totally, standard mode worked but still showed the title bar image.
Divingdaves css still works great though. ??
