    Hello there!
I hope this finds you well. I’m having an issue with two websites in regards to plugin returning a 404-Page Not found when I try to login to the admin dashboard. There were no changings to the login page for almost 2 months now and until a few days ago I couldn’t login to the admin dash on one of the websites, I had to delete the plugin thru CPanel to gain access, and when I enabled the plugin again, amazingly it was the same login credentials the plugin doesn’t recognize. this went on for days, and today, one of my other websites is facing a similar issue. The plugin doesn’t seem to recognize the login credentials.

    I need help.
    Thanks

    Hi,

I’m having an issue with two websites in regards to plugin returning a 404-Page Not found when I try to login to the admin dashboard.

Did you enable one of the Brute Force features like Rename Login Page?

There were no changings to the login page for almost 2 months now and until a few days ago I couldn’t login to the admin dash on one of the websites,

Did you install any new plugins? Or did you update any of your plugins and or theme that might have caused this issue? Do you know if your host updated your server? Do you have a cache plugin running in your site? Sometimes cache plugins can cause an issue on the login page.

I look forward to your reply.

    Kind regards

Did I install any new plugins? Absolutely! But they are not the culprits.

Did I update any of my plugins and or theme that might have caused this issue? Of course, I did update my themes and WP and plugins to their latest version. (If updating my theme makes Your plugin not to work, which means then I have no choice but to uninstall your plugin if it’s not compatible with the latest WP version.

Do I know if my host updated my server? No.they didn’t.

Do I have a cache plugin running in my site? Yes I do, but I don’t think that’s what’s causing the issue, this issue is on both sites.

Sometimes updating a theme or plugin might cause conflicts with other plugins. Carrying out a plugin and theme test can help troubleshooting an issue if there is a conflict. However this does not necessarily mean that there is a conflict to begin with.

Our plugin is up to date and compatible with the latest WP version.

    Yes, I did enable it.
And since my last response, I deleted the plugin from CPanel and gain access to my admin dash, I re-enabled the plugin again after gaining access, I changed (the name of) login URL, clear cache and logged out… still getting a 404- page not found when I try to login to admin dash.

I had to go back to my CPanel (again) and delete the plugin and renamed the login URL to the previous name, cleared cache logged out again, and tried to get in ..Nope, same old same old.

    Hi,

If you enabled the Rename Login Page feature, when you go to log in did you enter yoursite.com/secretword in the browser?

Hi, lets try something different. Lets recreate the permalinks by saving permalinks settings in WP Admin panel in your site. Then carry out a test.

    Let me know what happens.

    Thank you
