Seems like a great plugin that’s minimalistic … I couldn’t get it working on my site. I’m running 4.0, Genesis framework + Genesis child theme, deactivated all plugins, but still the same.

Not sure what I’m doing wrong — quite familiar with WordPress and things, but I cannot get this custom post type to work properly.

    Any guidance would be appreciated!

Best of luck with your plugin, and thank you for making it available on the WordPress repository!

Have you refreshed your permalinks/rewrite rules by visiting your permalinks page and just hitting save?

If you had permalinks enabled before you installed our plugin, you’ll need to do this to get our custom post type’s rules injected and working.

    Hey Michael.

Yes … I’ve resaved permalinks, tried different permalinks … saved ’em two or three times, deactivated plugins.

I’m on a VPS at BlueHost, and there shouldn’t be any issues there. I’m sure I’ll figure this out eventually.

But for some reason, my site isn’t liking this custom post type at the moment.

Although I’m thinking it has something to do with the site being SSL’d, or the WordPress HTTPS plugin — which often creates conflicts that need to be sorted out.

Is it liking other Custom Post Types? What name are you giving the chat room? Sometimes that can be a hindrance too.

It does support other custom post types (e.g., a team showcase plugin that uses their own custom post types).

I still think it’s an SSL issue, but it’s nothing of the fault of the plugin, Michael.

Everything appears great on your end … as I mentioned, well-coded, minimialistic, lightweight, etc. … a very ideal solution for many.

It’s probably just something retarded on my end; I’m sure I’ll figure it out.

    Thanks, and good luck!

Hope you get it figured out.

Hello, was this ever resolved? I am experiencing the same issue. I’ve tried resaving the permalinks, but no luck. My site is shiny-new and so am I, so any help would be appreciated.

It’s 404-ing and I can’t find a page to correspond to it in my server files, so I wonder if it’s not getting created for some reason?

Update: Okay so I figured out why the thing was 404ing — my .htaccess file was being a bugger.
For those following after me: I cleared anything in my .htaccess file, made it writeable (chmod 666 .htaccess), and tried changing the permalinks again. Lastly, I put the .htaccess files permissions back how they were (chmod 660 .htaccess).

    Hope this helps someone!

Given that it’s a post type, I wonder if you managed to name it something that’s conflicting with something else in your website. I know I haven’t done anything with the code itself since this was posted, and I haven’t heard back from the original poster.
