Hi there,

Over the past few weeks, we constantly receive a 404 page not found error message, when visiting any WooCommerce (cart, products, checkout, etc.) page on https://b-cpdonline.bettinamoser.co.za/.

We then need to go to WP admin > Settings > Permalinks > select the “Save” button > where after everything seems to work fine again.

The PHP version has been changed from 7.4 to 7.3, PHP/INI settings have been altered, theme author has been contacted (recon the issue is not on their end), etc.

Do you perhaps have an alternative/permanent solution, as we need to resolve it (save the permalinks) at least once a day?

Hi @divan-web-devine!

It sounds like something is changing your .htaccess file at random, which is why you have to keep flushing the permalinks for this to work.

I am not seeing any immediate red flags in your status report, so my guess would be to create a staging site from this site, then temporarily switch to a default theme, like Storefront, and disable all your plugins, except for WooCommerce core, to see if that resolves the issue. If it does, please re-enable your features one at a time until it breaks again, and then contact the author of the conflicting plugin.

Hi @rynald0s,

To be completely honest; the same issue hasn’t occurred, since the last couple of php.ini changes we applied via cPanel.

Therefore, we haven’t tried out your suggestion/method as yet. Once it’s necessary, I will report back here with the outcome.
