    Hi all,

I have a custom 404.php page in my theme folder, but if I try and view it by typing an address that does not exist, all I get is a browser 404 message, and the following text –

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    The site is https://www.agriculturesolicitor.co.uk/.

If anybody has any ideas on how to fix this, I’d be grateful for the help.

    Thanks.

  • What happens if you use Twenty Eleven with all plugins deactivated?

Sorry, should have said – no plugins on the site (it’s only little), and switching to TwentyEleven yeilds the same results. I’m thinking that I’m looking at the host?

    Ah ha, I’ve sorted it.

I updated my FTP Client a few days ago (CortFTP), and it was no longer showing .htaccess (or .htpasswd) files for local connections, so by .htaccess file wasn’t even being copied to the server!

    Thanks.
