404 site map error on Webmaster Tools

  • Hello: I have tried numerous times to submit my site map to Webmaster Tools….and keep getting the 404 error message. I have done all the “rewrites” according to Yoast and still no luck. Anyone have any other suggestions? It seems my pages are being crawled Ok…but I can’t submit the site map??

    If you are using Seo from Yoast … dont forget to add sitemap as sitemap_index.xml not sitemap.xml. Also check if your cache plugin works well with that.
