The 404 warning has stopped working and instead dumps all the pages of the whole site onto one page.

So if there is a broken link it renders a page but dumps the whole of the sites pages onto one page

    Example 1
    Example 2

Ive just added a made up url address after the .com and .co.uk respectively to show what happens

This is very disturbing but both use the same theme so this might have something to do with it!!!

Hope someone can shed some light onto this as really stuck to know why this is occuring.

    All the best
    Graham

  • Hello ~
I have the exact same problem. So far to test I’ve done a fresh install onto 2 different servers. I first became aware of the issue when google webmaster no longer verified my sites as the “404 returned a 200 success in the header”. I’ve found that if I erase and re-create the htaccess file I’m able to get the 404 to return a 404 (and not dump all site content onto one page, as mentioned by the other poster). However, this makes breaks my permalinks and will only then display pages at the default structure.

    Can someone please help!?
    Thanks,
    Scarlett

I’m experiencing this too. I will revert to the default theme later and see if it theme related.

    Regards

    Jim

Wonderful, sorry about my multiple repostings regarding this issue…it’s now cleared up. However, to clarify for someone having trouble like myself, it appears that the static post page must be to a page otherwise not navigable by your site. Otherwise, further problems ensue. Thank you kindly!
