404 when try to access archive page

    For some reason after installing the plugin on a genesis site (Business Pro) the archive page returns a 404. But not the regular 404 page that is styled like the rest of the site. It’s a 404 message that looks like a basic html page with no styling.
    I’ve added portfolio items and tried the regular genesis framework.

    When I try to access the archive page through the back-end: Portfolio Items – archive setting – portfolio archive(link), I get the same 404 page.

    Disabled all plugins to see if there are compatibility issues.
    I’m also running the latest version of wordpress and genesis.
    The URL of the portfolio item also returns a 404.

    Someone else had this issue https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/404-on-archive-page/ and it was fixed from your suggestion to visit the setting – permalink page. That didn’t work for me though.

    What am I doing wrong?

    In the end the child theme support helped me realize it’s not a plug-in issue. It was because I had a subdomain “portfolio”. So, the archive page was being redirected to that subdomain. Once the subdomain name was changed, the page worked!
