  • Try clearing your caching plugin, and your cache on Chrome. Your site looks fine to me on Chrome – same as Firefox.

Not even sure I have a caching plugin. Tried clearing the cache on Chrome. No joy. Worse, the site is now screwed up on Safari and Firefox as well. My theme is actually a child of twentyfourteen, but the parent theme is just as messed up, so the child doesn’t seem to be the issue here.

Is it possible to go back to 4.1.3? Because 4.2 has pretty much destroyed my display.

Absent being able to revert to 4.1.3, and since there seems to be no way to get twentyfourteen to behave correctly under 4.2, now have to find another theme that 4.2 will properly display. This sucks.

A couple of things to try – evidently on some hosts, the update delivered corrupted themes, so try deleting Twenty Fourteen and then reinstalling it.

If that doesn’t work, try going back to the last version of the theme here:

Thanks. Will try your suggestion. Meanwhile, even after dumping (but not deleting) the twenty fourteen theme and switching to Travelify, now the site only displays correctly on Chrome. On Firefox and Safari, it’s still showing the old twentyfourteen-child theme that 4.2 has blown up. Right now, I am hating life, and hating 4.2.

Okay, so that’s VERY likely a caching issue – and you DO have caching on your site – this shows up on the site code:

Is that a plugin or from your host?

That did it! The reinstall worked! Many MANY thanks!

    AWESOME! Now go celebrate :)!

I don’t think I have a cache plugin, so it has to be from the host. Will check there. For now, it’s displaying correctly on Chrome, but still showing Travelify theme on Firefox and Safari.

Can’t celebrate quite yet. Still have to sort out the display on Safari and Firefox. Will talk to the host about cleaning up the cache there. Thanks again.

Yeah, hopefully they can tell you how to do that easily :)! Assume you cleared your browser caches?

Yes. Everything now back to normal. Thanks for all your help.

Phew :)! Now you can enjoy your weekend. You’re welcome!
