• Hi,

I have been using WordPress for a couple of years now but have come across an issue I can not resolve. After updating to the latest version (4.2.2) on a website (https://www.bakerart.org.uk) I have not been able to access the update-core.php page to view and install any further updates. The page does not load and I get a 404 server error.

I get the exact same error on other pages of WordPress (e.g. plugins.php, themes.php).

Does anyone have any ideas as to how to resolve this, or what is causing it? Is this something to do with my wp-admin folder being corrupt?

Appreciate any help as this is a big issue, thanks!

    Chris

Try downloading WordPress again and delete then replace your copies of everything except the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory with fresh copies from the download. This will effectively replace all of your core files without damaging your content and settings. Some uploaders tend to be unreliable when overwriting files, so don’t forget to delete the original files before replacing them.
