4.3.1 removes some images from custom taxonomy

  • One of my sites just updated to 4.3.1 and some of the images associated with terms in a custom taxonomy have disappeared.

    I thought it was probably just a display issue, but the affected terms have actually had their images removed in the dashboard.

    I rolled back to a backup and everything was fine, updated all plugins and still everything was fine. As soon as I apply the 4.3.1 upgrade the same terms lose their images.

    I have had similar issues with data disapearing from custom taxonomies. In fact, the tag IDs were all changed for my custom taxonomies after running the update to 4.3.1.

    Are your images still on your site? If you’re having the same tag ID issue as I am, maybe the images are still on the site, but associated to the previous tag IDs for the taxonomies.

    Are you using the Advanced Custom Fields plugin at all? When I looked deeper I found the missing images had been added to the custom taxonomy with a field added with the plugin.

    Maybe it’s a problem with the plugin?
