4370 Photos…

    Smushing 4370 photos means, sending over 4370*4(Thumbnail, Medium, Large, Full) and receiving back the same number of images.

    I’d suggest you use the Bulk action instead from Media Library, to ensure your site don’t get slow.

    You select 50/100 images and send them for smushing instead of 4370, if you are hosting on a VPS, you may opt for a greater number instead of 50/100, as transfer rate will be higher. It might be little inconvenient but helps you avoid slowing your site.

    Also keep in mind data transfer limits, if you have any over shared hosting.

    Hi there,

    Umesh Kumar is right… The bulk option actually depends on the size of the total you are trying to smush I think… For me, with imgs between 80 and 700kb on average, I found that the bulk option works for 10 to 15 images at a time… So I guess going by batches of 500kb it should work… And you can open as many tabs as you want and do every batch simultaneously ??
