• Or at least the text editor.

Ever since my blog auto updated to 4.4.1, i have been having formatting issues with the default text editor. Problems like:

    – I would put 3 line breaks (or paragraphs) and when I save, I view and see 1, or sometimes I put 2 breaks, and after saving I see 4.
    – Problems with numbered bullet list, i go from 1, 2, 3, then 7, then 4, 5.

I have spent countless hours, perhaps the equivalent of 2 days, trying different things, like installing CKEditor, copy pasting the blog post to word to try and fix the bullet list etc etc.

    This is very frustrating.

I have read other people complaining about issues with 4.4.1.

Does anyone have a solution please?

  • Deactivate all your plugins and switch to the default Twenty-sixteen or Twenty-fifteen theme and see if the problems still occur.

Thanks. this seemed to *fix* some problems, but then again not so much. The paragraphing is really messed up. I edited the article still with plugins deactivated and with 2015 theme. but still had paragraph/spacing issues.

Any other help appreciated very much pls.

There may be errors in the upgrade. It happens occasionally, depending on the server, that some files get small errors in the and they don’t work properly.
You could reinstall the core WordPress files without losing any content if you wanted to to see if that would fix the issues.
You would need either access to your cPanel > File manager in your hosting account or an ftp client such as Filezilla.
