  • The 4.9.0 changelog is incomplete.

    Feature Removal: Removed the “Remove WordPress Generator Meta Tag” feature as it is not recommended due to limited security benefit and creating compatibility issues

    should say:

    Feature Removal: Removed the “Remove WordPress Generator Meta Tag” and “Display Random Version” features from the WordPress Tweaks section as these are not recommended due to limited security benefit and creating compatibility issues

    Just a reminder in case anyone wonders …

    The 5.0.0 changelog is also missing an important change.

    Enhancement: Updated better-wp-security’s translation domain from it-l10n-better-wp-security to better-wp-security

    Just a reminder in case anyone wonders why translation is not working after updating to 5.0.1 …

    Makes me wonder what else is missing …

    The change described in my previous post is an important one as it breaks the iTSec plugin usage on Apache 1.3.x …

    It will generate a 500 Internal Server Error message after the new rewriterule is added to the .htaccess file …

    Apache 1.3.x does not support (?:expr)=Passive (non-c-apt-uring) group in regular expressions …
