The button elements in comments (“Reply”, “Submit Comment”, etc) using IntenseDebate commenting plugin disappear when WP Dark Mode is toggled on. Similarly, some of the profile elements disappear (hover mouse over any the avatar for any comment).

    Hello,

We’re sorry for the trouble you’re facing with our plugin.

    1. Unfortunately, we’re unable to access your site; it seems to be blocked from our end – Screenshot
    2. We’ve tested our plugin with the IntenseDebate Commenting Plugin and didn’t encounter any issues like the ones you described – Screenshot
Could you please share screenshots or a screen-recorded video?
    3. Additionally, could you provide details about your environment, such as the theme name and version, WordPress version, etc.? This will help us replicate the issue on our end for further investigation.

    Thanks for sticking with us!

Hi. Thanks for the response. My apologies for the blocking. Thank you for the reply and help.

We’re running WordPress 6.4.3, with theme Customizr Pro v2.4.24, using WP Dark Mode plugin v 5.0.0. The issue developed concurrent with the plugin update installation.

Here’s a sample post with WP Dark Mode toggled off via the switch that appears on a post (in bottom right corner):

And here is the same sample post with WP Dark Mode toggled on. The button background elements are no longer displayed, though the button text still comes through.

Hello, I have noticed the same problem with some elements and especially the buttons (and hyperlinks) disappearing (goes black) from the page when dark mode is activated.

Website where the problem occurs after the update:: https://www.kozmali.sk

I am also attaching screenshots in white and dark mode after the update:

Thanks for reading and solving the problem :).

Damn. Same here. A lot of things didn’t display well after the V 5.0 update. This is crazy!

Same problem here. Before version 5, the dark version allowed you to see all the menu outlines etc. Now, everything is black. Only the text is visible. I can also confirm that there’s no longer the white flash problem, but for the moment I’d rather have flash and have a visible site. So I went back to the previous version.

Hi @plop690 how to go back to the old version please? Do I have to uninstall the entire plugin and install it again (which will erase all my settings) or can I just go back to the previous version somewhere in the plugin settings (without losing plugin settings)? Thank you for your response :).

    .

Or will the plugin creators @mdibrahimk48 fix it in this broken 5.0 version so I don’t have to downgrade to the previous version?

    Dominik Kozmáli

    (@dominokozmali)

Great, thanks for the tip @plop6901 I downgraded the plugin to the latest working version 4.2.9 (from this site: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-dark-mode/advanced/ according to this video: https://youtu.be/ffh-g9-54Lw?t=26 from time: 0:26 to 1:07 and after the downgrade it works great like before ??

    Dominik Kozmáli

    (@dominokozmali)

Well, it no longer works under version 4.2.9 because the plugin author probably changed or disabled its functionality (after reading my answer above yesterday). So we have no choice but to wait until the version 5.0 fix is released and simply not use the plugin until then… It’s a pity that the author @mdibrahimk48 solved it like this… It might have worked on the older version until they fixed the issues on the new one. ??

@dominokozmali Did you turn off the automatic updates in the plugin panel? Mine is still using 4.2.9, and everything still works as it did when I first reverted a few days ago. Or there could be some caching going on, either in WP or server tools.

    Dominik Kozmáli

    (@dominokozmali)

@plaw-1 yes, I immediately turned off automatic plugin updates, but even so, the next day, version 4.2.9 stopped showing completely on the page. It was necessary to clear all the caches and it is now on version 4.2.9 :). well thank you

Glad to hear it. Not sure WP Dark Mode is going to fix this for a while.

No problem. None of these things are as simple as they might seem, and we know you’ve got several products to develop and maintain.

    Dominik Kozmáli

    (@dominokozmali)

Hello @toukirwpdev, the new version 5.0.1 has already fixed the problems with displaying buttons and links. But –

    However, there were other problems:

    1. It is turned on (dark) by default on the page, while it should be turned off (white): https://www.kozmali.sk/ And in the previous version 4.X it was so (that by default I had the page in light mode, dark mode was only an option for those who wanted it)

    2. The animations are not smooth, an example with this subpage with books where they animate nicely smoothly in the white mode, but in the dark mode the animations are sharp and not smooth when moving the mouse: https://www.kozmali.sk/knihy/

5.0.1 still does not display the buttons, same as my initial example above. Moreover, now it also removes the Featured Image when dark mode is on.
