  • @dgmc – I would say there may need to be more context to the issue you are seeing although given this is a local installation you can likely start by ensuring your database user has _ALL_ privileges to write to the database itself.

    The MySQL user has all privileges. I manually added an admin WordPress user (based on WPBeginner example). I could then login to wordpress, but not as an admin. It gave me a head block and text block for a page add, with the old editor. Data was added to the database, during my testing. I think there is no database problem. Adding the Gutenburg plugin manually did not work. I have tried reinstalling a number of times. I have used this PHP / MySQL environment to develop a web site. Maybe there is some option in php.ini that needs to be set. At this point I have no idea what the problem is. Would be nice if there would have been an error message.

    I just solved it, by changing php.ini values (https://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/increase-memory-limit/). Thanks
