• I’ve used WordPress for client sites since 2007. Since the beginning I’ve wished there was a plugin that could find unused shortcodes. This does that and helps clean up a site big time.

If you search for how do I know which plugins my site uses 99% of the answers will tell you to see which plguins are active. Nobody gets the question. Sure, a plugin can be active. But IS IT BEING USED?

This plugin helps solve part of that unanswered dilema.

    1. Deactivate a plugin.
    2. Run the Shortcodes Finder search in pages and in posts.
    3. You’ll see shortcodes for plugins and themes and maybe even find some you want to remove.
    4. You may also find shortcodes that you might not know you had in the site because a plugin was previously deleted.

This doesn’t solve everything but it is a GREAT step toward solving an important need cleaning up WordPress sites when you change themes or deactivate a plugin.
