I’ve repeatedly tried to download and install the 5.3.2 update. I always get the following error message:

    Downloading update from https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/release/wordpress-5.3.2-new-bundled.zip…

Download failed.: The checksum of the file (d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e) does not match the expected checksum value (f4dbbaacb55de911b7c8bd76929e5099).

    Installation Failed

I’m also unable to update any plugins or upload new media to my site, which I’m guessing is related.

Is the problem on my end or on WordPress’s? And what do I need to do?

For some reason, if auto updating does not work on your server, then try MANUALLY updating. Download WordPress again and unzip it, and use that to copy up. Access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel (consult your hosting provider’s documentation for specifics on these), and delete then replace your copies of everything on the server EXCEPT the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory with fresh copies from the download. This will effectively replace all of your core files without damaging your content and settings. (NOTE: do not delete the?wp-content?directory or your?wp-config.php?file). Please read the Manual Update directions first.

Right, its well explained by t-p.

    Kindly follow the t-p’s instructions.

There’s no simpler way to do it? This process sounds like it runs the risk of erasing content from my site. And does this mean I’ll ALWAYS have to manually install?

My site is hosted through SiteGround. Is there some way they can fix this issue to avoid a manual install.

If your site hosted on SiteGround, feel free to contact the support. They’ll assist you.

Note, you can’t erase/lose any data while process it manually. Just backup and check the theme and plugins. That’s it. There are no ways to lose anything.

    Cheers
