Looks like the update to 5.3 is causing an error. I had to disable Ocean Extra to even get into the admin area. Here are the errors I’m still seeing:

https://www.baumpflegepemsl.de and https://www.baumpflegepemsl.de/wp-admin seem to be working fine. So I guess you either managed to install the new version of ocean-extra, disable your plugins or make the code fix as suggested near the top of this thread. Either way, happy days!

How can I fix this error when I cannot even login into the admin panel?

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘.’, expecting ‘&’ or variable (T_VARIABLE) in /home4/pmastrom/public_html/electriccityclowns.com/wp-content/plugins/ocean-extra/includes/wizard/classes/QuietSkin.php on line 94

When I got to https://electriccityclowns.com/wp-admin/ I receive the same error.

@pmastromarchi can you log into the file manager on your server? If so, go to wp-content/plugins/ocean-extra and rename it. You’ll be able to get in and install the updated version of the plugin. The current version does not have the error.

I found the real answer. I had several of the websites I manage go down — all I had to do to fix the problem was go into my cpanel and change the php selector from 5.4 to 7.1. I refreshed the sites and everything is working great. Simple!
