I just updated to 5.8.3 and I was kicked out of admin. Logged out and back it, can’t get to admin (redirects to home page on front end). Cleared caches, no go.

    What. Just. Happened.

Hey Steph, I’m sorry to hear that happened to you, that would be really frustrating. I just did my own site as a test and didn’t hit that, so I think it’s something unique to your site. I did some googling and found that one cause of that kind of redirect is if your .htaccess file gets messed up, and during an update would be an ideal time for that kind of problem.

My recommendation is to download a new copy of WordPress from www.ads-software.com, open up the zip file, and in the main folder you’ll find a .htaccess file. Compare it with the one on your server and see if they’re different.

Another option is to ask your host’s support folk to do this for you. ??

My admin area is behaving like crazy.

Not showing published post or deleted post but when refreshing the page then only showing (and sometimes not working0
On plugin page: if I deactivate a plugin it shows another plugin deactivated but when refreshed then shows correct, thereafter if I activate a plugin it shows the old window where the previous plugin was deactivated (but now shows activated) and various Nonce check errors.
If I search for a new plugin it keeps on rotating but when refresh then proceeds further.
What is happening with this version
