It works fine for most people so there’s a good chance this will get debugged and fixed eventually.
Perhaps you could ask nicely for some help… maybe even including some relevant information as to what environment, versions etc. you are using.

Other than that, the situation is hardly as dramatic as you outline it here. You could just as well use a third party 2FA plugin.

Turns out the culprit was a brower extension called ClearURLS (Chrome) which causes issues with the URL rewrites. Deactivating it immediately resolved the issue. Thanks to the WPvivid team for taking such good care of the issue.

By the looks of it I’m figuring out that something on this site causes all changes to have a delayed fuse. All of a sudden it works… never seen that happening before.

The URL does change though, you may not intend it to do so but it most certainly does.
Navigating between settings pages changes the url between these variations:

/wp-admin/admin.php?page=wpvivid-setting
/wp-admin/admin.php?page=wpvivid-setting#
/wp-admin/admin.php?#
/wp-admin/admin.php#?page=WPvivid

I’ve disabled all other plugins and it’s still happening. There’s nothing in my .htaccess outside of the default WP bit.

Frequent updates are good for soap operas but not necessarily for software. Personally, I prefer solid code that doesn’t require constant tweaking but that’s just me.

And no, for those people who simply click the update button it is no problem at all. However for those who actually test updates before pushing them live, it’s super annoying.

Perhaps you should get into the habit of testing more thoroughly before publishing.

Again, the dismiss does NOT work reliably. The prompt returns frequently and it does so on admin pages where it does NOT belong. That is not in line with the guidelines.

That is exactly what is meant by tracking users without their consent.

It is against the developer guidelines to inject ads into the Dashboard to begin with.

Another factor is that your ads contain tracking urls, which is completely forbidden.
