• I want to give this plugin (or the entire AMP system) minus 5 ratings. I implemented AMP on my websites 3 times, every time, it increase some traffic, but decrease social shares, decrease my revenue by more than 50% and increase bounce rate. No matter how much traffic increase if this decrease the revenue.

  • Hi there @luckybais,

Thank you for your feedback. I’m sorry to hear about your frustration with the AMP plugin and ecosystem.

First, to clarify: The AMP plugin on its own should not have any direct effect on things like revenue, social shares, or bounce rate, as it’s simply optimizing the page experience for your users.

That said, AMP is one component of the many things that go into these metrics, so it’s understandable that you can see them impacted as you turn different plugins, features, and functionalities on and off on your WordPress site.

I’m sorry that AMP didn’t work out for you. We’re always happy to help answer any questions or take a look at your setup to make recommendations on how to optimize AMP.

After implementing AMP, I tried many optimizations to increase the revenue, social shares and other page experience, but the problem with AMP is, when I add new features or functionalities to optimize the AMP page, the AMP ecosystem simply start creating compatibility problems which makes things worse in search console and page performance. and still revenue doesn’t increase. so no matter how much optimization you do on AMP pages, you will going to lose the revenue that is for sure.

Thanks for sharing your insights, we appreciate you taking the time to share. It sounds like your grievance may be with AMP in general and not specifically the plugin. The plugin helps users achieve AMP valid content. It does this by stripping out any incompatibilities, which may include ads that are not AMP valid (amp-ads), JavaScript based social share features or other incompatibilities.

Users can see all such incompatibilities if they wish by using the plugins validation feature, and even sure such incompatibles do run on AMP URLs if they wish – just not that this will result in any pages with these features being not fully AMP valid.

In relation to revenue may I ask how you implement amp ads? I can assist with reviewing your site and suggesting plugins if necessary. We take these reviews seriously and are more than happy to assist users with any query they may have. I can also assist with any social media or other features of your website that were not working as expected in AMP if you wish.

Yes, I’ll only recommend amp in blogs and article websites (text/info based). Otherwise its practically useless and might cause more harm than good,
