• I’ve been trying for two days straight to figure out why my feed is not working. I’ve tried Feedburner, but that didn’t help. I’ve completely run out of options. I will PayPal $50 to whoever can figure out what is causing my RSS feed to not work. I’m using 2.6.2

    Here is the feed:

    https://blog.thevegancollection.com/feed/

I’ve run it through a validator and everything is fine, but when I add it to MyYahoo or Bloglines, it either doesn’t work, only has the posts from 2 days ago or doesn’t update. Another example is when I use an author’s feed, it only gives a few of the posts:

    https://blog.thevegancollection.com/author/Kevin/feed

    Hopefully someone can help me.

  • theres nothing wrong with that feed.

in fact, I just subscribed in google feedreader and I see there, exactly what i see on the raw feed, content wise.

Google Reader seems to work, but My Yahoo and Bloglines both seem to not want to work.

In fact Bloglines is showing me my test posts from nearly 3 weeks ago.

maybe there is something wrong with your readers? are you seeing a cached version that others don’t see maybe?

Someone else complained about not being able to subscribe to Bloglines as well. In fact, it’s telling me “The feed does not appear to exist.” in both IE and Firefox.

    2 things.

when i put your feed url into bloglines, it puked. Came back and said it wasnt a valid feed.

Seeing that, I I let it autodiscover your available feeds by giving it your url, instead.

The first feed it sees is this one (and yes its the same one it puked on):

    https://blog.thevegancollection.com/feed/

    It sees old posts there.

One of the next ones it sees is this one:
    https://blog.thevegancollection.com/wp-rss2.php

    Those are current.

    whats in your .htaccess?

also, are you using any sort of robots.txt? I would poke around and look myself, but im mouseless on my laptop, its easier to just ask.

Are you using any plugins that affect your feeds?

What do your access logs say for the last few (10 or so) hits from bloglines (look for anything that not a 200)????

Re: MyYahoo – you can set it to show 10 items (i.e. posts), maximum. That’s how Y. works. And it shows all of them. Now that you have 10 posts written in the “last 2 days” – it’s not Y!’s fault.

    Whooami

I tried the using https://blog.thevegancollection.com/wp-rss2.php, but that choked half the time using MyYahoo, so there was something definitely wrong with that.

    Here’s what’s in my .htaccess:

    # BEGIN WordPress
    <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
    RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
    </IfModule>

    # END WordPress

    Also, no robots.txt file.

Moshu, when you use MyYahoo, it works fine, but it never updates. Even after I manually ping.

thats not all I asked about .. access logs. web server access logs.

also, is this an upgraded blog? Have you insured that you are using all the right files for the version of wp youre using? I would make sure that you have current files, even if means reuploading everything.

Even my own FF when prompted to autodetect your feed, chose the atom feed. Make sure your files (especially any that relate to feeds) are upgraded.

    whats in your root .htaccess?

Here’s a link to the most recent access log:

    https://blog.thevegancollection.com/access.log.2008-10-02

This should be the most recent version of the WP blog. I upgraded to 2.6.2 just a couple of weeks ago.

That should be the only .htaccess file I’m using.

well since today is the 3rd …

I went back and replaced the atom, feed, rss and rss2 .php files and that didn’t do the trick. I also uploaded yesterday’s access log:
