• I am using wordpress 2.1

I had just created an new page, (my first one) other than the blog page, in which I added a contact form from https://ryanduff.net/projects/wp-contactform/. However, as soon as I clicked add the page, i received an internal error. No big deal I thought i’d just try again. This is when I noticed any query to the wordpress database returned a 500 internal error. I am not sure what steps I should take next to remedy the situation. Thank you very much.

  • sounds like your .htaccess file got scrambled or something?

citeewurkor, cheers, you know I was thinking this about nine hours ago, but I am still at the bottom of a pretty steep learning curve… and I was thinking about just replacing the .htaccess file, however fear eventually won over my first instincts… maybe I should pay closer attention to those initial feelings. Shes seems to be all cleared up now.

    Thanks

    Hmm,

I just want to document this somewhere, I will try and find the right place to do it, but the wp-contact form listed as working in the 2.1 compatibility is “breaking” and causing a site wide 500 internal error when I am posting it to a page or a post.

Glad you got it fixed, qnp999. May want to contact the plugin author about it.
I had a few plugins get mangled after I upgraded. Luckily my favorite one’s got updated very quickly.
