500 Internal Server Error htaccess file

  • The .htaccess file is continually changing throwing a 500 internal server error. At its worst there were 3,500 lines. We recently moved to WP Engine for hosting. Have been in contact with support there and they have helped out but have no definite answer as to the 500 error. Not a solution, but we’ve temporarily locked permissions on the .htaccess file.

  • The .htaccess file is dynamic and can change for many reasons. So I’m presuming that you have been told that it’s something to do with s2Member, in which case what were you told?
