500 Internal Server error showing at instalation in Go Daddy server
-
I am trying to install a fresh worderpress 2.7 in godaddy server. It is just a fresh copy, downloaded and unzipped. I have uploaded it to the server through ftp and then trying to install that. But whenever i am calling through url it is giving an 500 Internal server error. After some googling I got some related problems solved by wp-cache. But i cant find any file like that in total folder. Can any one please help me!!!

I meet the same problem right now.
There are several things you can try in order to pinpoint the source of the errors.
-Rename the .htaccess file (temporarily). If your site works properly after renaming, you know the .htaccess file is the culprit.
-Disable Fast CGI via the File Extension Manager in the Hosting Control Center. Give it a few minutes and try your site again.
-Linux deluxe accounts or higher, offer error logs. This article provides instructions on working with the logs – https://help.godaddy.com/article/1197?isc=smfor1
If you still can’t determine the cause, please contact our support team with approximate times the errors are occurring, where on your site you’re seeing the errors and steps on duplicating. Support information can be found here: https://www.godaddy.com/community/community.aspx?isc=smfor1&tab=support
Dear GDHosting
– I tried the support options for GD and got brushed off each time – hence posting to a forum to see if anyone else has the answer. Enhanced error reporting does not function on GD and disabling Fast CGI is not an option for windows hosts…….
I sent your support team exact times when problem occurs and they claim they cannot look at the server logs which as a software person myself I find very hard to believe…..
I will try renaming the .htaccess files and see if it makes a difference.
I already had several WP blogs hosted on one server under different subdirectories with no major problems since installing them many months ago. All of a sudden this week 4 of my sites got the 500 Internal Server Error and I’m perplexed as to how that could happen without me doing anything to them and even more frustrated about how to fix it. I’ve contacted GoDaddy customer support but no one has responded.
If you’re okay with it, please post the domain, approximate times the errors are occurring, where on your site you’re seeing the errors and steps on duplicating.

https://www.cinemafuel.com

https://www.ilikefilms.com/photoblogHi GDHosting,
I just started with wordpress and I can’t even get it to open the URL that I was sent.
https://www.myfxideas.com/wordpress/
when I try to just go directly to the login URL the passwords wont work.

TIA
Don’t know what to do and don’t get the help I need either via email support.
Yesterday I made my domain work but somehow it stopped suddenly, from what I see, you need to clarify your processess.
I bought the WordPress package and then you tell me to figure it out myself because it’s a third party software.
@muhammadusman82
I tried and was not able to duplicate. Are you still having trouble?@ilikefilms
It has something to do with the config file in the root. Renaming it makes the sites work properly. You’ll need to go in and figure out the problem with the file.@makaro
Looks like things are working for you now.@roja_castilla

I am also using GoDaddy and recently one of my WordPress sites has been taking a 500-Internal-Error-crap every other load.
I am hosted on Godaddy. domain name is ANTIPINOY.COM
I am experiencing intermittent 500 Internal Server Error messages as well.
Here’s a sampling from my error logs:

i’ve been with Godaddy for more than 5 years now – this 500 error is downright irritating and I am already in the market for another hosting provider that can solve this – I will take with me all my hosting accounts – and I will tell my friends and customers to get their hosting account elsewhere –
I use wordpress a lot because it has worked well with my clients. i see other wordpress sites not hosted in godaddy working well.
Finally resolved the issue:
* Changed “FastCGI PHP 5.x” to just “PHP 5.x” per halytech’s suggestion.
* Changed “FastCGI PHP” to just “PHP 5.x”
* Changed “FastCGI PHP 4.x” to just “PHP 4.x”
* added a php.ini which contained memory=20MB in wp-admin
* removed the YARPP plugin————
Hi,
For the last month I have had 500 internal server errors on my brand new wordpress site and other errors listed in wp supercache. I use godaddy on a shared windows server. It was very intermittant and very annoying. I have been scouring the web for solutions and tried many to no avail. However, I wanted to post to this website because I found something that worked instantly for me. It is a plugin that installs through the wp plugin screen. It is called “nginx Compatibility (PHP4)” and I found it by searching the plugins with the term “fastCGI” since that seemed to be my problem. I don’t have nginx but this plug in said it fixes 2 problems one of which seemed to be mine because it mentioned mod_rewrite. I was a bit hesitant because when I clicked on the plugin’s website, it is written in another language and I could not find the ENGLISH link. But since I was at my wits end and felt like I had nothing to lose, I tried it. To my surprise, my pages now load within a few seconds and I can reach the admin page! Marvelous. I hope this helps someone.
good luck
This is all very interesting.
First, I tried installing WordPress manually to my shared windows hosting on Godaddy, and got the 500 error. Searched around and found information on it similar to what is in this thread.
Then, I decided to let Godaddy go ahead and install it using their “click to install application” type interface, and then just add back my content manually. Thought that might be the best way, since they might have some specialized setup routine that I’m not privy to… It worked fine for a couple hours, but then it started slowing down… giving blank pages… and then 500 errors… cleared up a few hours later… then down again… Round and round it goes.
It’s not as though this site had any traffic other than myself editing pages, so I’m thinking that perhaps there’s too much of a load on their servers, perhaps? I checked the log files and couldn’t find anything pointing out the error, so I’m at a loss.
This is kind of a shame because I have a lot of clients that want WordPress sites and having them register their domain and host in the same place seemed like a fantastic thing, but I can’t recommend Godaddy hosting for WordPress if the sites created will be randomly down. On a side note, I did ask a question about WordPress configuration to the email help desk and was given the “We don’t support 3rd party applications” response. I suppose it’s understandable, but you would think there would be some sort of support for WordPress , given that it’s listed as a “Product” you can buy with “24/7 Email, Phone & Web Support”.
