• I am the site admin for https://wishingwellnaturopathyclinic.com.au

A few days ago I removed 1500 Spam comments and was trying to sort out why the front page of the site was not working.

Now when I attempt to login via our own dashboard, there is only plain text.

Further more, none of the pages are accessible from the internet now.

I am unable to log in using the password I have, which worked when I logged in to delete the comments. When I attempt to reset the password, the site produces a 500 internal server error.

We use WordPress 3.8 and some themes which were all updated a few days ago.

Our site is based on the web and is hosted by WordPress. We do not do any offline editing or use any offline programs.

The one thing I noticed before these issues occurred is that our wordpress site URL has the word “home” in it but there is no “home” page in the list of pages created by the person who set it up.

Hoping someone can help. We’d rather not have to start the site from scratch again

  • Do you have a recent database backup?

Sadly no. The previous Admin left and this was handed to me by a less than savvy business owner. We do not have anything stored or used offline.

When I attempt to reset the password, the site produces a 500 internal server error.

What exactly did you do? Try checking your site’s error logs for a more specific error message. Your hosts should be able to help you accessing your site’s error logs.

I deleted 1500 comments from the site, that the owner wanted gone. Where do I check the error logs if I cant log in or change my password? The hosts are wordpress. The previous admin has set the site up entirely through wordpress and entirely online.
