• WordPress version: 3.6.1
    Plugin version: 2.3
    Link to my site: https://www.darulqasim.org/quest

I expected the plugin to do this: Be viewable on a post as intended and as I had experienced with the non-Pro version

Instead it did this: I got a 500 – Internal Server Error “There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed.”

Here’s what I’ve tried so far: I tried all the remedies you recommended: read the faq, turned off my theme, deactivated all other plugins but I haven’t been able to get it to work. Weird thing is that the free version worked fine. When I upgraded to Pro, it all broke. I am not too savvy with code and contemplated whether or not this falls into the “jquery conflict” issue you’ve mentioned but given that it worked with the free version I don’t think that’s the case.

Thanks in advance for your help!

No worries, always happy to help…

OK so sounds like you’ve done everything sensible so far to troubleshoot the issue. Hope I can help you from here…

1.) I checked your link but cannot see the player nor any server error message. Is this the page with the player?

2.) I checked your site code and can see there is a different audio player running… is this something you’re trying instead of this plugin or is it another plugin running at the same time, or part of the theme? Asking about this because audio players do not tend to play well together…

3.) a 500 error is basically when a file does not exist or cannot be found. This can be when a server is down, or it can simply be a broken link – leading to a file that no longer exists at that filepath. Please can you check that your filepaths are correct and leading to fully functional audio files.

Let me know how you go…

    Thanks Maeve! No luck yet…

    1) Here’s is the link to a post published with the player shortcode in place:
    https://www.darulqasim.org/quest/test-post-2/

    2) I have the other player running because I need some way of having my visitors play files today. I have disabled this plugin and still face the same issue. Once it’s fixed I would like to use only your plugin.

    3) The file path resolves and if I type the audio file url directly into Chrome it uses the built in player to play automatically.

Please let me know what you find if you’re able to troubleshoot further.

Are you sure this is a problem with the audio player? This just looks like you’re linking to a page/post that does not exist.

Do you get the same 500 error on that page when the plugin is deactivated?

When the plugin is deactivated (as it is now) I get no error and the post shows up with the shortcode visible. The post is published and does exist. Please let me know how else I can help you troubleshoot.

Just tried the shortcode on a different page instead of a post and get the same issue.

I did notice that I am putting the MP3 link in both the MP3 and OGG spots. Do you think this may be the issue? Like a previous poster, I didn’t want to have the files in both formats and so I followed your advice of putting the MP3 link in both. It worked fine for the free version (for these same files).

Thoughts? I’ve left the plugin deactivated for now.

    Maeve,

I’ve reinstalled the free plugin and used the same playlist items from the paid plugin to create this test post:

    https://www.darulqasim.org/quest/test-post-2/

Everything else is the same — the only difference is the free vs. paid plugin. For some reason, free works and paid does not.

    Please help.

Ok I can’t see what’s causing this from the outside… If you’d like me to take a closer look please get in touch privately via email with some access details and I will be happy to help you further with this.

    Thanks
