• Hey all,

Had a wordpress app installed successfully on a godaddy hosting account, and was running it off of https://www.ragingbird.net/blog. After 24 hours, I started getting 500 Internal Server Error screens roughly 85% of the time I tried to access my blog – particularly when I tried to log in to the admin part. Combed the internet for solutions and couldn’t figure it out. Any advice on this one? Thanks,

    Kilbourn

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

Hey esmi, thanks for the help.

I’m not gonna lie, when I tried to even LOOK at the plugins, it gave me a blank screen that said No Input File Specified. I’m pretty sure I didn’t do anything to screw it up this bad, and can’t really figure out what the hell is wrong with it! Thanks for any advice you can give!

can you reset the plugins folder? See the link I gave above.

    Here’s another idea:

I was having this problem on several of my WP sites, but only in a few specific circumstances (e.g. using the Enable Media Replace plugin). I called GoDaddy and he had me do this and the problem was fixed:

    • Open the hosting control center and go to Settings > File Extensions Management
    • For the .php, .php4, and .php5 extensions, the “Runs under” column WAS PHP 4.x (or 5.2.x) FastCGI
    • Click the edit button at the end of the row and select the corresponding option WITHOUT “FastCGI”

Maybe it’s not the same issue, but this fixed my problem immediately.

Let us know if this fixes your problem too.
