    Hi there,

    after upadating to 10.1 (WP 5.1.1) I get a 500 server error in the WP Backend, no problems in frontend.

    PHP error log says:

    /html/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/inc/class-my-yoast-api-request.php:155
    Stack trace:
    #0 /html/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/inc/class-my-yoast-api-request.php(155): Exception->__construct('cURL error 35: ...', 'http_request_fa...')
    #1 /html/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/inc/class-my-yoast-api-request.php(75): WPSEO_MyYoast_Api_Request->do_request('https://my.yoas...', Array)
    #2 /html/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/inc/class-addon-manager.php(375): WPSEO_MyYoast_Api_Request->fire()
    #3 /html/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/inc/class-addon-manager.php(101): WPSEO_Addon_Manager->request_current_sites()
    #4 /html/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/inc/class-addon-manager.php(163): WPSEO_Addon_Manager->get_site_information()
    #5 /html/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/inc/class-addon-manager.php(17 in /html/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/inc/class-my-yoast-api-request.php on line 155

    Is this a bug in Yoast or a misconfiguration of my server?

    After renaming the plugin-folder, everything runs ok again.

    Best regards

    Uli

  • Hi,

    We apologize for any inconvenience.

    We are currently aware of this issue and a hotfix is in the works. This will be released as 10.1.1 later.

    Edit: we have released 10.1.1 which has fixed this issue.

    Is it enough to install the plugin and the Internal Server Error (500) will disappear or do we have to do something else?

    I am unable to access my front end and also my back end…

    But I can install the plugin through my hosting access. Just want to be sure…..

    This issue shouldn’t make your frontend nor other admin pages inaccessible. Are you sure you are having this particular ERR 500? Have you looked at your server logs to confirm? If so, you can manually remove the plugin through your hosting and reinstall the latest 10.1.1 through the Dashboard

    I tried installing the plugin through my hosting access and it turned an error. But I am at least able to access be front and back end now. Was afraid our site was lost..

    And when I look at the installed plugins I can see that Yoast SEO has disappeared from the plugin list. Going to try and install in the default way now and see what happens.

    If I try to add the plugin again to WordPress it fails and gives the error that the folder already exists.. Any recommendations?

    Delete the directory through FTP or via file manager in your hosting control panel (such as cPanel, …) and install it again through your WP admin
