• After noticing my site was suffering from random 500 server errors I narrowed down the problem. In my case the 500 error was caused by 2 plugins:

    – Contextual Related Posts
    – Wordfence Security

The problem seems to been solved right now, but I’m not able to get these 2 plugins up and running again. Even after fully deleting and uploading the latest plugin versions by FTP..

    Any help is appreciated!

Is it an interaction of the plugins or does each separately cause a 500?

    Hi Steven,

They both are individually causing the front and admin area to generate 500 errors.

    Hi,

500 server error is obviously the php code.
Tell me which theme and plugins to use to reproduce the error and I will try to track down the problem in the code.

    Hi miroslavv,

I’m using my own custom theme (didn’t do any updates to the functions file, before the problem).

And have a stable local version running with the 2 plugins.

But my server is running on PHP version: 7.0.33
Also did a manual full WP core update

Any suggestions in what direction to look?
