Website was working fine 100%, then updated just now and I get 502 bad gateway. Checked all the plugins and Yoast SEO is the only one causing it, and it didn’t do it until the moment of update. I have increased my mem limit in .htaccess, php.ini and wp-config to 756mb. But that didn’t help.

This is the most recent error in my log:
2021-08-11 08:17:00 UTC [apache][autoindex:error] [pid 16725] [client 192.155.94.43:12136] AH01276: Cannot serve directory /home/customer/www/akashahealth.com.au/public_html/wp-includes/css/: No matching DirectoryIndex (index.html,Index.html,index.shtml,index.php,Index.php,index.phtml,Index.phtml,index.htm,Index.htm,home.htm,Home.htm,Default.htm,Default.html,default.htm,default.html) found, and server-generated directory index forbidden by Options directive

    Hello,

We are sorry about the 502 bad gateway you received after updating the plugin. Server errors are usually described in more detail in the server error log. AH01276: Cannot serve directory error that you shared is usually related to the Apache server. Can you please reach out to your web hosting provider regarding this?

    Thanks.

Hi, We have also faced this issue after today’s plugin update. We are using Siteground cloud hosting. While contacting the hosting provider told me that it may relate to the Plugin compatible issue with the PHP version.

    Please suggest.

Thanks for your confirmation @aformoftruth. The error you have shared with us from the server error doesn’t show anything related to Yoast SEO.

In this case, we’d like you to please remove the Yoast SEO plugin completely from your website and try reinstalling it to see whether this resolves the issue for you.

Note: reinstalling the plugin won’t remove any SEO data that you put into the plugin before.
