• I built a new site between 2/1/15 and 3/15/15, with WordPress SEO running as an active plugin as I built the site.

Once the pages were ready, I went into the SEO plugin and set up the standard elements – Title Tags, Meta Descriptions, etc…

I also added absolute self-referencing canonicals to each search-applicable page via the SEO plugin as well.

After those updates were in place, the fast speed of my admin panel completely vanished. I’ve been through the steps of deactivating each plugin and I’ve confirmed that WordPress SEO is the culprit.

The issue is so extreme that I now have trouble updating pages. I usually receive a 502 Error when the SEO plugin is active. When I deactivate the SEO plugin, the admin panel goes back to being lightning fast again.

I don’t mind if the SEO plugin slows down my admin panel a bit, but this seems far too extreme, given that I can barely update a page without getting a 502 error.

Does anyone know if any of the settings I’ve created in the SEO plugin tend to lead to issues like this? I’ve really only changed the core SEO page elements and added canonicals…

    Thanks in advance!
